SW and fellow SALTEE Michelle went to witness the spectacle, the dance GODdess herself, Ms. Jackson if u NASTAY! Twas a dream of SW's and the Number 1's Tour was in full effect! After a set from a B2K esque group Mindless Behavior and a 45 min. intermission, it was TYME! It had all of the polished DEEVAH things that were expected, FEERCE costume changes and a video montage with the KENG of Pop, SW's hero Michael, KUMPLETE with all the hits you could E=MAGIN. TWOBEWTS sat down with Marc to SPILL a bit on his TWOBEWTS ESTAB.
TWOBEWTS: What inspired you to open your restaurant?
Marc: I've always wanted to own a restaurant. It's been a dream of mine. My inspiration for opening Ambition was making a place for myself in this world. I wanted to bring people together who wouldn't have otherwise met. I wanted to offer food, coffee, and service that no other restaurant did. I wanted to express myself by combining my love for this industry with my love for pop culture.
TWOBEWTS: How did you come up with the concept for your business?
Marc: We came up with the concept by mixing everything we liked all together. And like a good martini we shook it until we saw our vision.
TWOBEWTS: How does pop culture influence you/ your business?
Marc: I saw the movie 9 To 5 when I was twelve and fell in love with Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. And Dolly's song, 9 To 5. Next was Cyndi Lauper then Madonna. Those three ladies (Cyndi, Dolly and Madonna) grabbed me and molded me into who I am today. But when I was sixteen I saw Tequilla Sunrise and said, "I want to own a restaurant." But pop culture was and still is a huge influence on me. I love Broadway and showtunes, pop music, powerful women, movies, reading non-fiction, bio's of entertainers, I love to read success stories of how "they did it!"
TWOBEWTS: What's your favorite thing to eat/ serve at your restaurant?
Marc: My favorite thing to eat at Ambition would be my rajun cajun sandwich, I enjoy the mixings of cajun spices, with mayo and muenster cheese, Yummy! My favorite thing to serve would be our bread pudding.
